Lovecraft In Brooklyn

So, I love Goodreads because it’s a great place to keep track of what I want to read, what I’m reading, and what I have read.  It’s also great for book recommendations.  However, the forums annoy the fuck out of me.  I cannot stand when people miss the point of books and/or don’t even bother to do a little research on a book they have ready.

Seriously, if I see one more person who claims to hate The Catcher in the Rye because Holden is a hypocrite, say that On the Road wasn’t inspiring, or claim that American Psycho is a high anti-feminist book, I’m going to lose it.  

I just don’t understand how someone can read an entire book and miss the point of it completely.
